Il Bronco, a few kilometres from the international Mugello Circuit, surrounded by the wonderful and fertile hills near Florence, has a long history characterised by its activities as a traditional Tuscan B&B and restaurant. The location of our restaurant and boarding house, within the district of Palagio, in Scarperia e San Piero, surrounded by the gentle Apennine hills of Mugello, allows it to offer maximum comfort and relaxation to our customers. Our facility is also equipped with all the necessary technology and accessories.

THE HISTORY OF OUR B&B AND RESTAURANT

Il Bronco owes its name to a strange event that happened many years ago at the farmhouse in Scarperia e San Piero. During Napoleon's downfall, some soldiers, returning from the unfortunate deeds of the Corsican Emperor, were looking for an oasis within which to find their balance and energy as well as peace of mind and body. Amongst the soldiers was one, in particular, who stood out in front of the inhabitants of Mugello, dubbed 'Il Bronco' due to the fact he lost an arm in one of his battles. The local settlers gave him this nickname because of his resemblance to a tree with a pruned branch. From that moment forward, the soldier chose to remain at the farmhouse that became his home and started being called by the nickname that the settlers had chosen for him.

THE BREATH-TAKING LANDSCAPE

Il Bronco, turned into a farmhouse by its founder, has become over time a valuable reference for tourists wishing to enjoy the wonderful view of Scarperia e San Piero. Tradition and innovation come together in our characteristic farmhouse, which serves as B&B as well as restaurant. Located especially near to the Golf Club in Poggio dei Medici, the international Mugello Circuit, and 'Lago di Bilancino' artificial lake, our restaurant and boarding house is easy to reach, thanks to it being near the A1 motorway exit of Barberino.
