IL BRONCO RESTAURANT: THE HISTORY OF THE B&B AND RESTAURANT

The Il Bronco Bed and Breakfast Restaurant owes its name to a strange event that occurred many years ago near the farmhouse in Scarperia and San Piero.

During the Napoleonic decline, some soldiers, returning from the Emperor's ill-fated exploits, sought an oasis where they could regain balance and revitalize their minds and bodies. Among the soldiers, one in particular struck the Mugello area's residents: "Il Bronco," so called because of the mutilation of an arm he sustained during battle. The farmers of the estate gave him this nickname because of his resemblance to a tree whose branches have been pruned.

From that moment on, the soldier chose to remain at the Colonica which became his home and took on the nickname that the settlers had chosen for him.
